So what do y'all make of it all?
1. We generally get the short straw already from most trading countries. The EU has 10 percent on cars and we only have 2.5 percent, for example. Even pundits on the right fail to acknowledge this( Shapiro)
2. I don't think these Tariffs will bring that much work and production back here. Many companies will eat the reactive steroids.
3. I do think we should recoup the money we spend on our military ensuring trade route safety. I'm not sure this gets accomplished with tariffs.

1. I agree. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were complaining as well. I guess this must hurt their pockets, too. Politicians are scum.

Rand Paul is a libertarian ideally, and his issue is that we should be negotiating a zero tariff on both sides.

Why plus 10 percent? So if a country has zero percent on us, why should consumers pay 10 percent on imports from those countries?

We wouldn't be. 10% of 0 is 0. The rest would negotiate must quicker. ZERO tariffs, fair trade is the goal. MAKE them want to negotiate.
