Once again.

Well folks, it's deja vue all over again. Once again we are going to try that same old trickle down economics that has failed so many times before. And it will fail again given the level of greed among the wealthy. Trickle down has not worked, will not work and cannot work. Period.

Well, it works better than the libs attempting to throw us down the socialism hole every fucking time they're in office. And, the system took us out of the 1980s recession.

Greg;, we've been over this before. We live in a socialist country. Or would you like not to have fire departments, police departments, paved roads, social security, etc., etc, etc.

And how do you feel about adding another trillion plus to the national debt? Feels good, doesn't it? I forget, do you have kids? Will they be saddled with paying it off? This certainly looks like what fiscal conservatives might do. Oh, wait, those are the folks in office.

No, we don't live in a socialist country. The democrats would love nothing better than to shove us down the socialist economy hole, and that is why Trump was elected. Fortunately, there are enough of us still holding on to our American dream to not allow that to happen. We do not believe economic inequality is bad, because in the U.S. a person still has the opportunity to educate and better him/herself. The socialists are all about making the rich people poor instead of making the poor people work and become rich. A few social programs does not a socialist economy make.

OK Greg, I guess you ought to quit driving on streets, hope your house never catches fire, don't need an ambulance, quit using city water and sewer. In other words, abstain from using anything your taxes pay for.

Why? I did't deny having to pay taxes and support social programs. But that doesnt mean we're a socialist country.

Not totally. I think we all can see our country/society needs certain things paid for by all that benefit all (or most, in both instances). So a certain amount of controlled socialism is good. Unbridled socialism would be a disaster.

Likewise, I think we all can see that we need entrepreneurs and the businesses they create to make jobs and fuel our economy. So a certain amount of Capitalism is good. Unbridled Capitalism would also be a disaster.

Unfortunately, my opinion is the scale has tipped too far toward the Capitalists, as it appears they are hoarding cash/profits at an obscenely greater rate than they are re-investing in jobs and supporting the very economy they rely on. One could argue that they aren't required to create jobs... but considering this country gives them the freedom and the platform to be prosperous, isn't it in everyone's best interest to keep the economy strong in order to keep our country strong?

Basically, there has to be balance. One side must not be allowed to "win" at the expense of the other, or the results will be disastrous.

Well, you sorta just took a bit longer to say the same thing I said. BUT, the statement was made that we ARE a socialist country, and this absolutely not correct for the reasons I've already stated. Whether or not we support a few social programs is irrelevant.

The reason it appears we have dipped further to the capitalist realm is because the liberals have had us so over taxed, and the EPA has had it grip for so fucking long that businesses are becoming jumpy. When they finally DO get to make a bonus, profit, windfall, they decide to hang on to it. When you constantly have someone penalizing you for succeeding, and attempting to take away everything you work for, you become mighty cautious. Lower the taxes, increase incentives, relax the regulations and allow the economy to fix itself.
