Think about it ...
My congressman (Greg Steube) plans to back Donald Trump for Speaker.
If the Republicans were to vote Trump to that position ...
and if Joe and Kamala didn't finish their terms, guess who would immediately be president ...
and that would turn the tables and put pressure on the Democrats regarding any possibilities they might have to replace Joe and Kamala on the 2024 ticket, wouldn't it?

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) announced late Tuesday he will file paperwork to nominate former President Trump to be the next Speaker of the House.
“This week, when the U.S. House of Representatives reconvenes, my first order of business will be to nominate Donald J. Trump for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives,” Nehls said in a statement. “President Trump, the greatest President of my lifetime, has a proven record of putting America First and will make the House great again.”

What I don't understand is why all these conservative talking heads are saying that this is bad. Aren't conservatives the party of accountability? Some of the talking points here are how this looks towards independents. That somehow the Democrats won here. Someone is going to have to explain it to me.
Difference. Conservatives are the party of accountability . Modern day Republicans, not so much.

As stated in the above article, Rep. Matt Gaetz, who orchestrated McCarthy's departure, confirmed, "I have spoken to President Trump over the last several days. I would say that my conversations with the former president leave me with great confidence that I'm doing the right thing."
Then Trump shouldn't have backed McCarthy in first fucking place..Jesus. This shit is why I'd prefer Desantis.

Trump didn't publicly back McCarthy during the recent push to oust him, but he has questioned why Republicans have spent so much time fighting each other. And by the same token, back in January, Trump urged House Republicans to back McCarthy to avoid a long, divisive and embarrassing situation, and he did so for that reason more so than giving a full-fledged endorsement of the California congressman.
He openly backed him back in January. It was reported everywhere.
