But the new lawsuit states that regulations such as ITAR do not prevent SpaceX from hiring refugees, whose “permission to live and work in the United States does not expire, and they stand on equal footing with U.S. citizens,” according to the DOJ.


This is horse shit and they know it. Every application for a refugee to have ITAR clearance would have gotten rejected. This "you have to at least try" is crap. Even the company I work for specifies that you have to be a citizen to apply.

No company dealing in ITAR or clearance wants to deal with Refugee status, or at a minimum, someone applying that where they just say they are a refugee.

I'd be interested in discovery if DOJ or DOD ever allows or hires in ITAR specific jobs Refugees.

And this is absolutely correct.

Asylees can apply for a permanent resident (ie green card) and eventually become citizens. However, 99.9 percent of the jobs in the DOD, DOJ, or NASA at minimum require permanent resident status but most importantly citizenship.

So who sues the DOJ for not hiring Asylees?
