... but since the year 1900, here in Sarasota, Fla., there has never been a below-freezing temperature on any Feb. 9th. The lowest Feb. 9 reading came in 1979, when the thermometer recorded 34 degrees,

By the way, we're headed for about 81 degrees this afternoon, and I type this (at 6:40 a.m.), it's currently a mild 64. It's now been nearly three weeks since we've needed any heat in the house, although that could change briefly over the weekend when two nights could see temperatures near 50 before things get back to normal.

Isn't it great in the Sunshine State?
 
Yesterday morning -- after going nearly 3 weeks with the A/C set at 72 cool -- we finally had to use a little heat in the house to take the "chill" off a bit when the outside temperature dropped to 48 and the inside temperature fell to 68. And although no heat will be needed today, as I post this around 6:30 a.m., the in-house temperature is down to 70 while outside it's a cool (for us) 56.

However, we'll be back to normal today with a forecast high of 79 and a low tonight of 63. Isn't is great in the Sunshine State?
