Here on the west coast of Florida, it's nothing like other parts of the country, but it's definitely the coldest January in any year since I moved to Sarasota in 1966.
As I post this at 6:15 a.m., it's 48 degrees, the coldest it's been so far this winter. We'll be back to normal temperatures next week, but this weekend (from Friday to Sunday), the forecast calls for low temperatures of 45, 39 and 51. And if it does get to 39 on Saturday, it will match the lowest it was last winter.
Today's high will be around 63, and for the next four days, the forecast calls for highs of 68, 72, 57 and 62, and rarely do we have a string of highs that low.
