It's obviously an advantage to pile up a bunch of wins in a 162-game Major League Baseball season heading into the postseason playoffs. Or is it?

Three teams -- Atlanta Braves (104 wins), Baltimore Orioles (101) and Los Angeles Dodgers (100) -- reached or surpassed the century mark in regular-season victories, and the Tampa Bay Rays were the top wild-card team with 99 wins.

So how did those teams fare in the postseason playoffs? A combined 1 WIN AND 11 LOSSES, scoring a combined 26 runs while their opponents lit up the scoreboard with 71 runs!

Of those four teams, only the Braves managed to win a playoff game, even though they were eliminated by the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 in a best-of-5 series.

Again, WHAT post-season advantage?
