I'm Having a Facebook argument with a young 30 something, that, in their take, if corporations were forced to take less money then home prices would all of a a sudden be affordable.
Are these folks idiots or just brainwashed? I took basic econ and know that corporate profits have little to do directly with home prices.
These folks can't accept that if everyone makes more money, that will just increase demand and increase home prices.
The argument then was the builder should make less money. But then you're saying that individual homeowners should also take less money for their homes just so it's affordable, because here where I live, builder price is directly related to previously built homes. That's fair to families who own homes...how?
Where I live we have 1.5 percent unemployment rate and an 8 percent population growth year over year. In the last 5 years. The builders can't keep up.
