i apoligize for the late finish, and the later posting of the results. i wish that we didnt have to wait until we had a league finish at 4:30, or else we could have started at 4 and had everyone home at 10:30ish. for those of you that bowled, i appreciate your participation. heck, even i did well. which is unfortunate, because i didn't want to draw someone i knew well in the first round, and that happened with derrick. even thought the scores don't show it, there was some great bowling on a flat 43' pattern. you could not miss at all, even later on when there was some burn up.

there was 3 no-shows. but i do understand the situations that you guys had, so don't sweat it....

HOWEVER.....

i do have an issue with some bowlers that told me how much they were looking forward to bowling this tournament, then all of a sudden you could not find them anywhere this weekend. pretty pathetic that you would not bowl because there wasn't a thousand brackets to be had. and by the way, there was side action available and taken advantage of. it's not me to call people out, so i'm not going to. but i will say that there are a massive amount of ego's that are not shoeing up because they don't want their friends to know that they can't bowl on a wall, or they can't be a shotmaker. we are having these tournaments, and people are bowling them whether you pay up and play, or sit on the sidelines with your multitude of reasons why you can't bowl.

congrats to mike, johnny, and the rest of the cashers. i thought the pattern was fair, lefty-righty was equal, and you had to know what to throw, where to throw, and where to go. no one acted like a jackass, and everyone thought it was a fair format. the only thing i heard of is that they were too slick, but that was because someone didn't have the right matchup in their bag. after giving up the china, i thought this was a good pattern to go to. next one won't be the wall, but i will throw ya a bone.... maybe....

as far as formats, i'm still thinking of them. anything you guys want, let me know. we are looking at the first sunday in june, and we can start at 4:00, so even better. the only thing is that i definitely can't bowl, cause kelly will be in nebraska getting ready for the wedding. so she can't help. and oh yea, she has come a long way since our first tournament when she was running with her head sliced off with a butter knife. she did well, and i hope you guys appreciate her as much as i do. on second thought, not as much as i do!! :naughty:

let their be discussion!!!

Tourny was good brian ... No real complaints from me... I couldn't make the shots and I gave two games away ... up by 40 in the seventh and loose by two ... (2 opens) ... Not gonna cut it... Shot seemed fair...
I need to see Austin about getting some hookin shit ... I've got too many revs for most places and have to throw dry lane stuff on medium to medium heavy oil patterns... Only ball I have sanded is an old black hammer... What were you throwing Brian ... You and Derrick both had good ball reaction that I could see... Let me know...

Brian,

I enjoyed the tournament. I love the format, unfortunately it does not lend itself to a late evening tournament. The shot was fair for that type of tournament. It did not seem like anyone, right handed or left handed had a real advantage. I really only have one suggestion for a different type of tournament. Maybe you could have a doubles tournament similar to SASBA where you do a Baker style roll-off in a step ladder for the top 5 teams.

Thanks to Mark Finklestein for supporting your tournaments, and thanks to you for your hard work.

All I know is that according to Mr. Towel, Derrick has smooth balls. :D

:retard: :retard: :retard: hey... mine were smoother yesterday :D :D

kent, i was using a x factor deuce that i drilled last year. i snatched one on closeout for $40 and figured that i can punch it for heavy oil. since i have moved down here, that is literally the second time i found i could use it. the first time was at copperfield for the regional, but that ball had way too much plaque on it.

appreciate your words mark, i have thought about a doubles tournament. the only problem is that i would think that the format for those things are just as long, if not longer for what i do. my next thought is either

A) a 8 game marathon starting at 4:00 pm

...... or.....

B) two different qualifying blocks, match play after the second qualifying block. something like qualify at 12 nad 3, bowl match play @ 6 or 7. no auto seeds, just straight up top 16.

it's a work in progress. i'm also working on two all day format tournaments. one of bowl 7 games, and top 1 in 8 bowl round robin match play, and the other one a 12-16 game marathon. higher entry fees, longer formats, payout on top a lot more. and use of the whole center.

Wow... an X-factor duece...

I tried my triple X but had too much polish on it... Thanks...

Brian,

I'm probably in the minority here but I say for the next one ... throw down another hard shot like that last one ... I would rather loose to a 190 than throw 245 and still loose...

Just my .02 cents
