My pro shop guy recommended this one. Based on that alone I'll probably get it. Any experiences with it? Does it hook? I have a Beast w/ Mica I'm afraid will roll a lot like it, I dont need two similar balls, and I dont need to replace that Beast yet, it still scores on dry as good as anything I've ever owned...

I drilled one because it has the same 2-piece weight block as the Stinger Low Flare. The cover is not what I expected, but it still does the job. Fantastic ball when the lanes begin to break down. It gets down the lane great and actually has a little more flip than I would ideally like. Hope this helps.

Helps a little. My main concern is getting a ball thats a lot like the Beast w/Mica that I already have. That ball rolls nice, hits, carries, etc... I have no desire to replace it yet, I'm hoping this one will do the same things, just in more oil. I also have a Storm Eraser Pearl Particle in that range too, but where I bowl, there's not much oil (Ironic in Texas).

polarmike, you might want to consider the ebonite crossfire.

According to their website, their pretty close. The Crossfire rolls a little earlier and hooks a little less. Plus, I'm trying to move to simpler weightblocks since I have hand, and I dont think I'll need that flip block on the crossfire, not that it would make that much difference but since they're similar otherwise... It looks like a good choice too though. One thing I do like is that the Black Ice has a similar coverstock to the V2 solid, arguably the best ball this decade so far, so cant go wrong there.
Again, I just dont need anything that rolls like my Beast w/Mica, and it seems like the Black Ice might do that. If it hooks more I'll get it. I'll hit up my pro shop guy on Saturday and see what he thinks...

The Black Ice has a solid coverstock with a stinger core.
The solid would allow the Black Ice to start reading the lane sooner than
pearls. This ball is not for heavy oil.
Your favorite drill pattern along with some coverstock tweaking should
be what you are looking for.
Changing the grit/surface on today's balls is often overlooked.
Maintenance on balls is the most overlooked in all of bowling.
