I just started throwing LANE1 balls this year. My XL and Blueberry are very strong. Many people say LANE1 is superior to all else. Do the big cores really set this line apart from the others. I have thrown comparable Brunswicks and found the LANE1s retain more energy. Your thoughts please. Thanks-Mike

I’ve also switched over to Lane 1 for the most part. Still keeping my X-IT and the Thunderflash.
Personally the only reason I use them is because no one else in my house has any. Kind of like a status symbol. Why do people buy Mercedes when a Chevy will get the job done.
Since using the saws though my average has been steadily increasing. How much of it is the equipment vs me having more confidence in the shot is up for grabs. My teammates tell me I’m more accurate with the saws than with my Storm equipment. Can’t really figure out why that should be. Everything feels the same to me.
I’ve just had a good matchup of equipment to the lane conditions with the Saws. Would they work for everyone else? Who knows until they try them.

Curly, I really doubt Lane#1 is superior.
These days, all manufacturers (probably all except for AMF) have amazing balls and I don't think Lane#1 is better than the others.
Lane#1 is rare here in Europe, even more than in the States.
I had the opportunity to play a game with an Emerald Pearl. The span was just a tad too small and I put three tapes into the thumbhole, but it was playable. Well, that ball was a nice one. I liked the arc, it's easily readable and hits very hard.
Nonetheless I decided to buy a Hammer Diesel instead, since I fell in love with that baby almost immediately.
Lane#1 claims there are more 300s shot with their balls than with any other ball. This might even be true - for a simple reason.
Lane#1 balls are by far the most expensive ones on the market.
A beginner in the 150 region will buy Storm, Track, Big B or whatever and maybe switch to Lane#1 once he reached the 200s. That's simply because a beginner won't be willing to spend that much money for an orb!
So Lane#1 has the advantage that the bowlers using their equipment are more experienced.
Oh well, just my two cents on that.

I agree with SrKeglers comments in that it is kind of a status symbol because you do not see too many around. However, my X-Factor (Storm) retains more energy and is stronger on the backend than my Blueberry. In fact, I found the Blueberry to be very condition specific and that it does not carry as well as my X-Factor. Its a good ball but not a great ball and not the best I have ever had.
I still miss the days when all I took to the lanes was my Ebonite Nitro R2. What a GREAT ball that was! I still have it!

I like my lane#1 equipment and own 3 so far and have another on the way.
I have balls from many different manufactures that I get for testing the Elixir. For me the Saws hit harder than anything else in my pile of balls. I think for the most part Lane#1 cores fit a greater variety of people out there.

Switched to Buzzsaws about 2 years ago. Before that I'd been thru most of the list. I didn't like Big B because they were too squirty for me; either that or they just hooked off my hand. But, when you put that center heavy core in the brunswich cover it seems to tame the cover and roll very heavy. Plain and simple it just matches up with me much better than anything else. So far I own 13 of those 'Saws, so I guess I like 'em.

Being one of the very few Pro Shops to sell Buzzsaw in Louisiana i an say the product is a very strong one. But mthe whole Buzzsaw line does not compare to Storm from top to bottom. The Factor line is very strong and i can't keep them in stock, and comming soon a partical eraser and a power line ball called the Charge. Storm keeps comming out with top notch balls. Like the company say " It's the Bowlers Company" no doubt.
